PRO-96 Battery issues??

Hi All,
A few months ago I bought a 4 pack of the "Digital" 2000Ma re-chargeable batteries at Wal-Mart. They came with a standard charger. I recently purchased a PRO-96 (which I love) and I got another 4 pack of the batteries that came with a fast charger. I have the standard charger, the fast charger, and another fast charger from Rat Shack. Whenever I put these batteries in any of the three chargers, the unit syas that the batteries are charged within a few minutes...then of course I only get a very short time out of them in the scanner. The fact that these batteries were bought at two very different times makes me believe that the batteries can't all be bad...but all of the chargers can't be bad either...any one have any thoughts on what the @*$^&%#$ is going on?? 8)

I use Radioshack 23-033 charger (it comes with 4-1500 mAh AA's). I use 2300 mAh batteries from Meijer (regular Ni-MH not fast charge). I get about 8 hours on these.

I use these awesome batts called Monster Rechargables. I bought them at Best Buy for my PRO-93. I get about 12 Hours out of these. They are awesome. Very highly recommended.

I had a similar problem with 'no-name' cells, but now I use name brand items - Energizer NiMH cells and a MAHA charger. No problems since.

The kicker is that you can get name brand cells for very little more than the noname ones. Try Wal*Mart, Target, Sam's Club, or whatever your local mega outlet is. Energizers are up to 2500 mAH now, too. ($8.00 for 4 cells)

Gee I never have a problem. Bought Wal*Mart 2500maH in Camera dept. Use R/S 9v 300ma charger. Get 2 days play on a charge. Dont beleive in hot charge / fast charge concept. Good Luck to all.

I've got generic no-name 1800mah's in my Pro-96 (and I charge them in the 96). They must be better part of a year old and still last me at least 10 to 12 hours a day without fail. I plug the radio in on my bedside table when I go to bed and they are always good to go the next morning!!
