I'm using the default settings on win96 for the high and low battery settings. I'm geeting plenty of run time on a charge, at the end the scanner is working fine then blinks a couple of times then goes dead. What are some of the high low voltage settings you guys are using?

mine is set at 3.94 and 4.63

It is extremely accurate, when it says low battery, i have about 15 minutes left. Might want to up the low level if you want to be notified sooner. I don't care to know about the level until then though.

It's highly dependent on the type of batteries you use... Make slow changes and track them and you'll probably be better off than copying someone else's.

The thing about NiMH cells is that they do last, but when they give out, the voltage drops fast. Thus, it's hard to get a really good 'warning' with NiMHs. I'm using 3.94 and 4.63 for the low and high (respectively). I think that may be the default. Many times, I only get a few beeps before it starts resetting the scanner. No biggie for me, though. I always have my second pack at the ready to drop in at the first beep. When this happens, I put the set needing charged in my conditioning charger, and the cells are almost always discharged enough for the charger to not want to discharge them any more, so I suspect they really are discharging well in the scanner. BTW, I use 2100, 2200 or 2300 mAH NiMHs myself (Energizer, Powerex and GP make up most of my stock).

BTW, NEVER mix manufacturers or cell capacity - ALWAYS use a matched set of the same rating and manufacturer in your pack.
