I've noticed recently that the display sometimes shows "DC: C-Search" when it locks on to a conventional frequency. Others programmed in the same bank simply display the bank name on the fourth line of the display.

I haven't run across this on the forums or in the manual. Anyone know what this is?

That means you have that channel programmed for the digital squelch mode ("DC") and it's searching for a DCS code.

If you want to get rid of this, step the that channel and hit MODE until it shows FM (if that's what you want it to be).

Thanks Chris - that was it.

(Now I know what my seat belt latch has been doing to the scanner when it's laying beside me in the truck!)
