Hello all. A new guy here with a question. I have an old trusty Pro-96. Is the new firmware update worth it? I am afraid to brick my scanner. I have arc-96 and use it regularly but I am unable to find a clear source how to do it safely. Suggestions anyone?
Thanks.

Full, clear, step by step instructions are included with the firmware download file here (scroll down to the " Support Pages - 1.2, 1.4 DSP Firmware and manuals" header on this page, click on the "Firmware download 1.2, 1.4 and manual" link and the zip file will download.

or just click here for the direct link for the zip file download:

Firmware download 1.2, 1.4 and manual

Be certain to un-zip (extract) the file first and then read the "Firmware2000526_UPG_14.pdf" file for easy to follow instructions.

if you have a Pro-106 yes the updates are safe as long as your batteries are fresh during the process and have the proper programming cable.
Here are the steps and files attached if you do have a Pro-106.
