PRO-96 date codes?

What datecodes are known to have v1.3 firmware installed?

I picked up a new Pro-96 yesterday that is all up to date. The code for my scanner is 06a04.

a v 1.2 CPU.

Any thoughts? I have a few :evil:

I believe 06A04 is the first factory 1.3 version. The fact that your box says 07A04 doesn't matter. You have a July box with a January radio.

I'm pretty sure this is correct:

08A03 or later V1.1
01A04 or later V1.2
06A04 or later V1.3

Of course, any 'earlier' model could have been upgraded at Ft. Worth.

Heres my thought. Someone bought a 01A04 and it was 1.2 and they wanted a 1.3 so they went and bought a 1.3 (07A04) and returned the 1.2 in the new box. Now they have a 1.3 and you are stuck with a old 1.2 :? and a new box :shock:

I ordered my PRO-96 from RadioShack.com in late July and both the box and scanner are

01A04
CPU-F1.2
DSP-U1.2 (the factory already put the DSP updates on the scanner)
VOC-F1.0

Apparently not. I just checked a unit in a local RS store that had the date code 06A04 (inside the radio - and BTW there are no date codes on the boxes at this store) 06A04 and the version was 1.1.

Someone probably bought one, replaced the rear cover (with the S/N and date code) with their early V1.1 unit, and returned it as 'not wanting it'. In essence, they committed fraud and got an upgrade for free.

It is unthinkable that an 06A04 would have original firmware. The factory stopped making 1.1 in January, 04.

The DSP was an upgraded version??? I thought DSP 1.2 came out about the same time as CPU 1.2. I know DSP V1.2 came out at the end of January, 2004. I also thought it was factory installed around April, 04. (resulting in an F1.2 version)

Well, the U in front of the 1.2 indicates it was an Upgrade. F = Factory.

Cool! I'm learning new stuff all the time. I made a mistake when typing it in, it should be an "F" and not a "U". My bad.
