PRO-96 Display is blank

Hi Guys...I've never started a thread before so I hope I'm doing this right. The display on my Pro-96 scanner has gone blank. If you turn on the backlight, it can be read very faintly but it is still essentially a blank screen. The scanner is working normally otherwise. Fresh batteries did not help. Anyone ever have this problem? Is there an easy fix? Thanks to anyone who can help...

Perhaps the Contrast setting was changed. Page 74 of the owners manual will provide instructions on how to adjust this setting.

This is a common problem with the Pro-96 and Pro-2096.

Pro-96 has blank display

The display contrast may be set to lowest position so check that 1st. (see page 74 of the user nanual).
If that doesn't help then either the display is bad or there is a problem in the display circuitry. The display is
expensive ($43) and most of the time it is not the display. You can drop the scanner off at your local Radio
Shack store and it will be sent to a Radio Shack service center where it can be diagnosed. An estimate will
be phone to you so the cst in advance. The labor charge is $49 to repair all problem plus whatever parts it
needs. The repair will come with a 90 day warranty.

1. Press MANUAL.​

2. Press FUNC then 9.​

Use Up/Down keys to set contrast. appears in the​

scanner’s display.​

3. Press up arrow​

or down arrow to adjust the contrast.​

4. Press ENTER to set the display contrast.
