I should be able to have a P93 file. I don't know if don's converter will work on the 96 yet. I'll find out.

If you need any other info, let me know. I lived in Sunset Beach and worked in Little River/NMB from 91-99.

Tom,
If you have a Win96 license and are a donating member of RR (you are) use the Web Import feature in Win96. Very easy and quick.

My father owned The Doghose Grill there on 179 in Ocean Isle before he died last year..........I'll have to get Win96 I guess I have ScanCat Lite but it doesn't support converting p93's I don't think....

I ate there many, many times. Sorry to hear of your loss.

My mother owned the small bakery on 179 towards Sunset Beach on the right, about 3/4 mile from OIB. Small world?

http://www.starrsoft.com/software/win96/default.asp

It's a free 30-day trial, $30 to register. If It's as good as win 92, 93, and the converter, it's well worth it.

The converter program (WinConverter) is free ... just download off Don Starr's website.

The best conversions are done going from a Win92 to Win96 file, since they are the most-similar of the scanner series in terms of features and channel structure.

The program will not convert backwards ... ie Win96 to the earlier Win93 format.

I have had moderate luck cutting/pasting .spg and .p95 files to .p96 files.... it takes some work to add the tones and tidy up the new file, but it saves some time....
