pro 96 for 200.00...Is it worth it

Im buying a pro 96 tomorrow for 200.00 ...
I am not sure on the cosmetic situation of the thing but, the guy says it works fine and such.....
I was looking on ebay a little while ago and they are still going for 350 and such.....
This is worht it isnt it????

That is your Question to answer, If it is working condition sure your talkin a 500buck scanner, However there are issues with different Versions of the scanner. check in the inside of the Battery Box for a Date /Manufacture Code. What are you getting with the scanner? Id start here doin just what you are asking Questions............Hoser147

The issues with the older versions of the scanner aren't worth worrying over. If it works, $200 is great.

yes I am not going to be to pickey as 200.00 is worth it...
the version uniden 296 I have is the very first version out and its somehwat been worth it..
I am in Baltimroe city and the baltimroe police radio system is oneof the very first apco 25 systems put up...So the audio is terrible ..
Thats worth it for me because most of the time i can not understand what the people are saying to each other, or i get a real loud dispatcher and have to adjust the volume after every single transmission...
With the 96 I have heard it and it sounds superb when listening to bmore city just like the original motoralla the force uses..
So yea I have to drive a hour to get it but then again,its so worth it due to the fact that I need the automatic volume adjuster the 96 offers...
what superb audio this thing has, its so gonna be worth it to me....
Just used to the unidens easy access to side channels and such..
ohh well ill take superb audio over anything about right now...
ill let yall knwo how it is

for 200 if by chance there is a problem of some sort when you get it. unless its major would probably fix it for under a $100

Nah I got it and its spectacular...looks brand new and seems new easy to access the channels i want to betetr than i thought..
