Hey i had almost the same thing i had put in a little area in the house and the edac would break up or come in scratchy but since i moved it to another room it works fine because i hooked it to and antenia which is out side on the chimmney and it comes in clear as a whistle try to put it in another room.

You can make out a weak analog signal. You must have almost twice the siglnal level to hear digital. A weak digital signal sounds +|(&*^$#@
