Pro 96 Is it broke?

My Pro 96 hand held scanner fell over, an not on a hard surface however, there is no chatter now. It comes on, the squelch noise can be heard when turned too far and it seems to be scanning but not picking up anything. Is there a button thats locked or something? Thanks

Check the ATT isn't turned on... If that doesn't work try reloading the v folder..

Check BNC connection wire that leads from connector to board inside. Bet it broke when it dropped. It is a simple fix if it did, just need a soldering iron. It happens quite frequently with scanners.

Can you still hear the weather service? If not, the wire from the antenna connector to the radio could have come loose.

If you cant get anywhere with tryin the above, take it to RS and have them send it in for service. Mine quit working a few months ago took it to them they charged $20 to send it in to the repair center, about 2 weeks later I got it back working fine. The total cost for the repair came to just under $50 and they took the original $20 off that I paid and also sent a coupon along with it for another $15 off another purchase. Good Luck
