Pro 96.....No Sound

One of my towing buds bought a NIB pro 96, asked me to program it. Made the files, up-loaded them & turned on the scanner to check it. Stop on a channel, but no sound. Volume was up, so I tried hit the WX button.....nothing !!!

I can hear the "beep" when I touch the keypad, but still no audio. Anyone have any issues like this ? I did a search on here looking, but seems maybe the sound card/board could be defective I guess.....dunno.

Any thoughts.......?

bad volume POT??, try blowing it out with a can of compressed air, maybe dust or something stuck in it. alos check inside if ay wana open it & look at the speaker connection

I've had mine do this a couple of times when I loaded a new Win96 file. Save the config, do a hard reset and load it again. A couple of other times, it went mute after a firmware update, and it scared the hell out of me when it scanned ok, but I heard nothing.
