All of a sudden, I am having problems monitoring my local EDACS system. I bought the Pro-96 last August and it has worked fine up until the last two weeks. BTW it works fine on Motorola analog and digital systems.

When monitoring EDACS systems, it is completely missing transmissions on the busiest and most important talk groups. All the talk groups are still in there, and no frequencies or TGs are locked out. And the problem happens whether the bank is opened or closed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything else I could have done to hinder reception without realizing it. I swapped antennas and I picked up some traffic on one talk group but then I started missing radio traffic again. My 245 picks up everything on EDACS so I know it is not the system.

Are you sure they have not expanded the system;? if you are missing any LCN's it would act like that

Wow! That was a quick reply. I will have to check that. I suppose it is possible. But my 245 is having no problems. I will still check that though. Thanks for the help.

I think I found the problem. I started entering the LCNs on 0 instead of 1. So I fixed that and it shows signs of normal function. Duh! to me. Your reply spurred me on to look at the owner's manual AGAIN. I did actually read the owners manual before I programmed it, honest! I just didn't read that sidebar.

Usually when I'm listening to EDACS I am using one of my Unidens, so that's why I didn't notice this earlier.

Its nice that you got it fixed but you should have mentioned that it was working fine until you started changing things. I think that is the #1 cause of problems that people have with programming EDACS.
