Pro-96 Question/s?

Hi Guys,

Three questions if I may,


1. Has anyone experienced one of your banks appear to be being skipped completely? I have Banks 1-9 Programed but Bank 4 only has a . showing instead of a 4? Plus when scanning it seems to just skip right over that bank entirely. Everything else works fine except Bank 4?

2. Can someone please point me in the right direction to purchase the Software to be able to hook the scanner up to a computer?

3. Are there any recalls or upgrades I should/need to find out about for the Pro-96?

Get Win96 to program the scanner. It is easy to use and might show what the problem is. Also the cable you want is 20-289.

When in scan mode just press the <4> key. Each bank can toggle on or off.

seamusg is steering you in the right direction. Don Starr's Win96 is the best solution for programming the Pro-96. BTW, if you meant controling the radio by computer, the Pro-96 cannot be controlled, only programmed by computer.

3. Are there any recalls or upgrades I should/need to find out about for the Pro-96?

Well yes there are updates; however, if you have just purchased your radio, it probably has the proper updates. When you first turn it on and the Welcome screen is active press the <3> key. If your display reads as follows then you have the latest updates.

  Version
CPU:    F1.3
DSP-App:F1.2
DSP-App:F1.0

If DSP-App line does not read this way (the F1.2 may read V1.2) then it needs to be updated, you can download the software update from RS. See the site.

If the CPU line is not F1.3, don't panic, you need to review some of the other posts here in relation to that and decide on your own if it needs updating, this requires a trip to the shop (in Ft. Worth) to happen.

Depends on how new the radio is.
Press 3 at the welcome screen on boot up and if its all up to date you will see:
CPU: F1.3
DSP-App: U1.2 (I think it could aslo be F1.2)
DSP-Voc: F1.0
