Yes, it will display the talkgroup numbers if the frequencies are programmed in.

I really like it. I am in Michigan and it does really well on the state's 9600 baud digital system (MPSCS).

with apologies....

i monitor a police system that is apco25 but not trunked.... he problem is there are other police agencies whose transmissions appeaar because there is no way to set a pl tone for the channels in question... does anyone know of a trick with the pro 96 to preclude trhese unwanted recptions?

Man, I never thought of that. When I was in Montana, they were using digital and non-digital on the same frequency but since they were the same agency (just trying to hide I guess) it really didn't make any difference. What a bummer. :(

it can become really disconcerting in the mornings especially.... depending upon the ducting conditions there are times when the skip over-rides the apco transmissions.....makes for some interesting fone calls from the newsroom!

Same thing happens in Westchester County...Somers FD is on 453.275, analog. Yonkers Police is also 453.275, but APCO 25. I still can't understand why Westchester assigned 453.275 like it did...

I think it will as long as you are on a voice channel, but on a control channel it will display the system information.
