Pro-96 remote Control?

After looking at the specs page on RS web site for the Pro-96, I found a section that mentions Remote Control Features ---Technology IR .

Anyone know about this?

Also, I bought my 96 last Sept after Katrina. Has there aver beeen a CPU upgrade or firmware upgrades? Just wondering!!!!

Yes - in this very RS section you'll see a boatload of posts referring to "new update for Pro96"

That would be the thing to check...

I would think the newer GRE radio's would, since checking the New 600 model mobile/base radio it seems that they extra space for updated firmware in the future. So you never know if they might let you control the GRE's with a PC

Coastie - what are you talking about? All GRE radios until the PSR500/600 were not computer controllable, the PSR500/600 are (and are listed as such in the appropriate threads and Wikis)

Though you can't control the radio by PC, you can program it easily with this; http://www.starrsoft.com/software/win96/default.asp
