I've been playing around with my pro 96 to pick up CB radio traffic but am not having any luck. I live about a mile from I-95. I am using the regular rubber antenna that came with it. Any suggestions on what else I can try.

Thanks

Probably just a long wire (preferably outdoors and vertical) hooked to the center pin of the BNC on the scanner should suffice. If you have a metal antenna for your portable scanner, use the metal antenna fully extended.

Never tried listening to a cb on a scanner.

The ideal length of the antenna for CB frequencies is 102 inches. Even with a good antenna don't be surprised if you don't hear much. I hear very little CB activity on my scanner these days even when driving on Los Angeles freeways during rush hour. A far cry from what I used to hear in the mid 70's (KAAE5740).
