Pro-96 still amazes me with its performance.

I just have to say it again. The Pro-96 is an awesome radio! The longer I own the Pro-96, the more I appreciate this technological marvel. I'm sure the BC's are good radios; however, I just can't say enough about the Pro-96.

Yesterday, I traveled from my home to Chicago for business. The night before, I input the frequencies in my Pro-96 for the Safe-T towers that I thought I would be able to receive along my trip. As I anticipated, the Pro-96 performed flawlessly by receiving traffic from the Safe-T towers in Boone, Clinton, Tippecanoe, Warren, Benton, Jasper and Lake counties, as I travel north on I-65.

Using your scanner is much more enjoyable while traveling in your vehicle (though not legal in Indiana) versus sitting at home. Much more interactive, in a way.

Of course, the fun didn't end once I arrived in Chicago. I also have Chicago area frequencies programmed in a V-Folder in my Pro-96. :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can't beat V-folders. The new Uniden has peaked my interest with it's AGC and AA batteries, but even with it's adjustable memory it won't be as flexible as the v-folders.

I have owned PRO-96 for almost 2 years. It has performed as specified. Live in Eastern Iowa, I have county(5) plus county fire Freq. All air freq, plus the digital trunking scan for Cedar Rapids. Includes several Ham Freq, and have no problem with receive. I also use when traveling. :D
