Pro 96 trunking question

So, after programming all my local frequencies in, my Pro 96 has been great. I am still new to using it though - I think I'm doing something wrong.

I've only been listening to NYPD so far. When I pick up a transmission , I pause my scanner. I'll hear both sides of the conversation- but after they stop- i won't hear anything for a bit and then maybe a random response to something I missed on a different frequency. It doesn't appear to be trunking. I'll even set it to scan just that 1 bank- but then of course it will pick up all things from all over. If I want to monitor that one dispatch and its precints- how do I do that?

NYPD is not trunked. If you want to monitor one channel press MAN during scanning to stop on that frequency and it will pause on that one channel.

Oh... That was actually going to be another question of mine. I was under the impression that it was- and when I was loading them up into Win96- I saw they were set to Conventional- but wasn't sure. Learning- slowly but surely. Thanks for clearing that up.
