I've owned my Pro-96 for a few years now but have only listened to Houston PD's analog and Harris County's trunked systems. I'm fairly comfortable programming those on my scanner, but am completely stumped about getting TxWARN set up tonight. I've tried to add a new bank and tune into the "Houston Simulcast" shown on Texas Wide Area Radio Network (TxWARN) Project 25 Trunking System, Various, Texas - Scanner Frequencies but am getting an "INVALID FREQ" error. What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks - and my apologies if I've just managed to miss something simple here!

Hi and welcome.

I moved your post to the TX forum before approving it as you will certainly get more local help here than in the RS Forum.

The Pro-96 is incapable of trunk tracking 700 MHz frequencies so you can't use the Houston Simulcast site. I am not sure where you are located but the two airport sites would work and the Montgomery simulcast site would work; however, the traffic carried on them might not be what you are looking for.

I'm on the Northwest side of Houston, so unfortunately, neither of the airport sites are likely to work over here. Thanks for the help - it looks like this just wasn't meant to be. I may just have to cough up some money for a new scanner come Christmastime...
