I currently own a Pro 96. I upgraded from a Pro 97 and I am having trouble understanding a feature. My 97 had 1000 banks but the 96 supposedly has more than that. I only see 10 banks of 50 channels each meaning I only have 500 channels. Is there something I am missing? Do these V-folders allow me to program more channels? If so how do I access them?

Thanks.

The Pro-97 has 1000 channels... 10 Banks with 100 channels each.

You can access the Pro-96's V-folders by (1) Press PGM (2) Press FUNC PGM. You will then see the V-folders menu.

The Pro-96 has 500 working channels (10 Banks with 50 channels each) plus the V-folders (eleven 500 channel V-folders). You can change the contents of the V-folders to your liking but don't forget to backup the original folders just in case you need to reload them in the future.

You can search online for a RadioShack Pro-96 Preloaded Data Addendum. These are the instructions on what the V-folders are and how to use them.

Enjoy your scanner!

Thank you so much for your reply. If I load a v folder is there a way to go back to the original scanner setup that I had before loading that? If not how can I save the current setup as a v-folder? I am using win96 btw.

thanks
