Both of these hand held scanners are from Radio Shack. The Pro-96 is on clearance now for $299 or $399.
The Pro-106 is 599.00

What is the difference between t hese two scanners?

Is it that the Pro-106 pre-programmed so you do not have to program freqs?

The Pro 106 is $ 499. and the newest model out there. Although the 96s are good scanners, the 106 is better in alot of ways, there are plenty of threads about them both. As far as programing goes, its a more enjoyable experience to have it programed for the area that you monitor. Not sure what the window mount antenna pic is about?

I see.
I meant to put the pic of the glass mounted antenna in another post but I was wondering if this Autotek antenna is better than the Radio Shack antenna or are they the same antenna?
Radio Shack sells it for $35.00
J.C. Whitney sells it for 42.00 supposedly marked down from $83.00.

Some of the guys have had good luck with the glass mount antenna's and there is a recent thread about them in the antenna forum. Cant really help ya on the JC Whitney one, my personal experience has not been that great with them, I would rather drill a hole and use a NMO or a mag mount antenna. As far as the scanners go if you can swing the 106 you will be much happier with it, with the 96s not in production any longer it may become an issue with parts in the future.

That's fine because no one has gone digital of what I listen to.

I know a magnet mount antenna is better but can't have any holes or marks on car. The antenna from JC Whitney is of Autotek brand not from JC whitney brand.

The Radioreference.com Wiki and Radio Shack forums here will tell you all you need to know...I recommend you do some research...the answers are easy to find just take the time to read...
