Hello everyone. Great site, lots of info here!

Very new to scanning and I have a question: I'm attempting to program my Pro96 using Win500. I have a premium script from RR so I'm doing the Web import thing. I am able to successfully import all the Davidson County data to the User Interface portion of Win500. My problem is actually getting the data to the scanner.

I tried a few times on the Win500 screen - Scanner>Upload to Scanner and after a few seconds it says "No response from scanner." I tried with the scanner on and I tried with it off. Same result. Oh and the screen on the scanner continues to display "CLONE MODE, up to send, remove cable to exit."

What could the problem be?

Scanner: Pro96
Interface Cable: Radioshack TXD RXD (i think its a GRE-0412)
Using Windows Vista and Win500 programming
I'm also referencing UtahRadio's Win500 Wiki

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Chopper

Downloaded Win96 and now when I upload to scanner I get the following message....

"Unable to open the port"\\.\COM1
2: COM1 does not exist"

Any ideas?

You need to look in Device Manager to see what port your cable is on. If its a usb cable it could be on Port 3 or higher
