Since "somtime" is at least one year away, and more likely longer, and we don't know what type of digital system (one that may not be scannable) I wouldn't spend the money just on a "what if."

Lucas County will more than likely be Motorola. Rumors are that the Toledo/Lucas County TRS will be a sub-system of Ohio MARCS.

Agreed - but if the only reason for buying a digital scanner now is that he might need one in two years, I'd say that's not a good enough reason ;> Best bet is that there'll be a digital scanner better than the Pro96 by then...
