Has anyone changed their battery levels (LO/HI) on a pro-97 with win97? If so what did you change it to and how well did it work?

Heres what the WINXX help file states:
"You can change the scanner’s default voltage levels for its “battery low” warning. The “LO” value sets the point at which the scanner starts displaying the warning (default: 3.94VDC). The “HI” value sets the point at which the scanner dismisses an existing warning (default: 4.63VDC). (The “HI” value is used for hysteresis, as the battery level will rise and fall with scanner activity)."

I have played with it on the PRO - 96. I prefer the default setting

Well, I remember in some pager programs (i.e. advisor pro, advisor elite) that your device, scanner or pager, can since when battery starts getting low to give you the "low battery!" alert. By default, once the voltage reaches a low of 3.94 volts DC, that's when it alerts you for low battery. I'm just wondering what would happen if I were to set it lower. In pagers if you set it lower, they wouldn't alert you at all, they would just cut off due to lack of power.

Pretty much the same happens with the scanner. I set mine at 3.00VDC and when power was up, it just shut down with no warning.

Didn't like that. I prefer the warning. Default setting is good for me.

I realize this point was made, just sharing my experience...

My Pro96 is set at 4.0VDC and it still suts-down with no warning when voltage is low...
(Actually it just cycles off-on-off-on... with a weird "glump-glump-glump noise.)

My Pro91 starts beeping. Of course the 91 is a Uniden and the 96 is a GRE and this may explain the difference.

What does your 96 do when the battery is low???

Jon
