Pro 97 Charging Indicator?

Is the display supposed to indicate that the batteries are charging when plugged to the power adapter? Just bought my pro-97, loaded the yellow battery tray, 4 Nmh batteries, and plugged up the RS 9v power adaptor. The screen is blank. The Pro-83 display shows "charging" under similar circumstances. Seems the GRE should do the same or similar. Can anyone answer this question?

Mine doesn't display anything, maybe cause I always charge it while the scanner is off. I'll double check for you later on, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't display anything at all.

It will not display anything

This scanner is not designed to shop charging.

It will not indicate if its charging or not.
