Pro 97 Discriminator Tap

I am new to Trunking scanning,I have a Pro 97. I have heard of using a discriminator tap to extract data, is there a way to decode this data, and hear the audio through your computer speakers? (digital trunking:Ex APCO Project 25)

Only using UniTrunker and a Uniden digital scanner as the computer control for the voice frequency output, if you just want P25 digital voice.

Unfortunately there isn't an app out there - yet - that can decode the P25 data on a PC. I would be willing to bet someone's working on it, though

I don't want to discourage you from learning, but using Trunking utilities is a topic that's rather beyond a newcomer. I'd advise saving up for a digital scanner, and learn to use it (with the new Unidens, that's a learning experience in and of itself) properly. You'll learn from the basement up - which is the way most folks get started anyway.
