Pro-97 for pro-2052???

Need advice for trading a Pro-97 for a Pro-2052? Now I know the 2052 has no tones. Would this be a good trade or not? Need some opinions.

My opinion would be no. While the 2052 is a good scanner, I think the feature set of the 97 would be enough to warrant keeping it.

I do own both radios and I use both on a daily basis. What I do like about the 2052 is the 20 bank configuration that it has and the sound quality produced.

One thing I miss on the 2052 is the ability to switch modulation between AM & FM, but not everyone needs that. It doesn't have tone codes as you have pointed out, no alpha tags, no signal stalker.

For me, I think you would be taking a step backwards by trading the 97 for a 2052. Now if you were adding the 2052 to your shack, then I'd say that is a good addition.
