pro 97 help!!! newbie

I bought a PRO-97 yesterday from RS. I couldn't afford the data cable so I am manually programming it. I have read the "easier to understand" manual but I must still be doing something wrong...

I have put all the frequencies in one bank for the local fire department...Its a Motorola II system. I then put in all the TGID's and put text tags on them. I recieve all the transmissions and can follow all the conversations but none of my text tags show up. The only thing displayed is the frequency that I am recieving on. I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the Text tags or even the TGID's to show up...Any suggestions?

When you catch a conversation, do you see the channel display, or just the TGID number.

If you just see the channel display, you are not trunking per se, but just scanning the trunking channels in order.

Yea its just showing me the channel # not the TGID's. I will go and re-read the manual but it hasn't helped so far...Thanks for the reply and if you might know what I am doing wrong please get back to me...

Wait for the scanner to stop on a conversation; when you are seeing the talkgroup ID, press TEXT. That will toggle the display between "text" and "ID".

I figured it out...I didn't have it in the MO mode but FM mode...Thanks for the help.
