Pro-97 Limiting Talkgroups w/Win97

I have a Pro-97 that I am able to program with Win97, but I need a couple of pointers.

First, how do I (if possible) block reception of talkgroups except the ones I have selected. Don't want to sit there all day and lock out users I don't want to hear and try to figure out who they all are.

Second, what setting do I want to use to get the display to read like the alpha tag in RR database?

Put scanner in closed mode. You are limit to 150 ID's per bank. depending on your system may need to split up in 2 or more banks . PD in 1 & EMS/fire in the other etc , also in win97 make sure you have all the subgroups marked also. make the TEXT box is checked off in Win97. also you can use L/O( lockout) to not hear any TG that you want. when the ID is active just hit the lockout key. Also you wil learn scanners take TIME & patience

That's good to know. I had wondered about that.

Man, I start to miss the good old days when you just got a list of frequencies and could manually program them in. You just needed the output and knew who they were.
