That's weird! My Pro-97 is working fine with the newly "rebanded frequencies" in my area (Chattanooga/Hamilton Co., TN). No problem whatsoever! I know all of the references show that the Pro-97 would not work after rebanding. I guess I'm lucky, for the moment!
I would like to know exactly which system you are listening to. It. Will. Not. Trunk-track. ...on a Motorola Type II 800MHz SmartZone system after rebanding
unless the new frequencies being used
DO NOT begin with 851, 852, or 853,
AND have a "0" in the fourth decimal place of the frequency. Those are the frequencies that "legacy" scanners cannot "hear" without updated trunking tables.
With new CCs installed, legacy scanners (without upgrades) will trunk-track at approximately 20% ~ 80% DEPENDING on the rebanded frequencies. All frequencies can be entered as conventional frequencies and scanned as conventional frequencies, but "following" would be purely coincidental. According to
the RR Wiki on the Pro-97, IT CANNOT BE UPGRADED! For Davis County, Utah, the Pro-97 will have to be replaced.
All of the rebanded frequencies in Davis County, Utah are of those described above except for two frequencies...and one of those is the CC which carries the data stream, no voice, and the other is the alternate CC. That pretty much locks out all legacy scanners from being able to trunk-track any conversations in Davis County, Utah, unless they are upgraded!
