Hi all,

I just won this scanner off of ebay and I want to use it for when I go to local races. I am wondering is there an easy way to record the scanner frequencies of the drivers/crews directly into the scanner or do I have to scan a set frequency group and write them down and add them manually later, or via the software link? I have an old pro 62 and I just scan a limited range and whoever i hear I hear, I am hoping to be able to have it find them and save them. Please let me know if this is possible and how..

Have a great day..

Your best bet would be use the signal stalker and enter them that way.

Does the signal stalker store them on the scanner, or is it more like the selecting a limit on the old scanner I have and the doing a search between a lo and high frequency? I am not familar with the signal stalker.

Thanks for the information...

To get to the frequencies in the first place you can PROGRAM them directly, use the SEARCH function (within a set range or one you program yourself) or use SIGNAL STALKER (which also requires you select range(s) to check.

I suggest using SEARCH because it is more sensitive than Signal Stalker and does not require that you already know the exact frequencies.

To save frequencies you have found, there are some choices as well. Check the user's manual starting at page 48. I suggest "copying a frequency into an empty channel within a bank" which starts on page 49, as follows:

You can copy a frequency into a vacant channel in a specified bank when the scanner stops on the frequency during search or tune mode.

1. Press
FUNC then ENT when you fi nd a frequency you want to copy. Bank 9 Store? appears.

2. If you want to copy the frequency into bank 9, press
ENT. It is stored in the first available vacant channel in the bank. Or, press your desired bank number to store, then press ENT. Channel Stored! appears for 2 seconds. All the conditions such as receiving mode and delay condition are copied on the channel. After about 2 seconds, the scanner automatically returns to search mode.

3. If you try to copy a frequency which is already stored, the scanner sounds the notice tone 3 times after you press
ENT. Dupl.Freq. ChXXX appears on the third line. If you want to copy the duplicate frequency anyway, press ENT, or if not, press CL to cancel.
