Hi,
I just picked up a Pro-97 and i've been listening for about 6 month though I have never made any improvements to my scanner or done anything past just basic listing.
I was looking at antennas and it appears that certain antennas only pick up a certain MHz "bands". (Is this true?) What I really want is an antenna that picks up the same bands, or even more, if thats possible, than my stock PRO-97 scanner. I was looking at this, tell me what you think: http://www.antennawarehouse.com/Scanner/Scanduck.htm

TIA

That thing is huge, outside is always better for antennas, are you always portable or do you park the scanner somewhere?

It's a knockoff of the Diamond RH77CA, from what I have read it seems to be an OK antenna, I would still spend the little extra and get the Diamond. The antennas will work best on the VHF and UHF bands. I use the Diamonds on my dual band HT's.
