pro 97 question

Im noticing the display on my pro 97 cutting in and out during certain conversations, its very fast and right in time with the audio, i thought it may have been due to the light being on, but I checked that and it does it at times with the light off, anyone know what could be causing this? is the display about to go out? thanks

It may be a problem with a loose ribbon cable to the display. I know there were some instructions posted here with the exact steps. It's not too difficult - yoo just open up the radio and push the ribbon cable back in and make sure the two ears are up.

It's an odd thing that happens with the Pro-97 when it's get a fluctuating signal. Try moving the scanner a little to get better reception. As you say it sort of does it in time with the static in the audio.

that sounds like the problem, mainly does it when mobile and moving, as for the ribbon cable would you happen to know the location of that thread?
