I have a pro 97 I need a power cord cord. I bought one for it today at radio shack and the guy mached it up with the scanner and got home and guess what no power. The plug seems to fit. Am I doing somthing wrong or is it not the right cord.

You might have the tip put on reverse of what it should be. Try unplugging the tip from the power cord and plug it in reverse of how you have it. I did the same thing when I bought mine.

Also, is the outlet you have it plugged in to have power going to it? (I had mine on a switched outlet one day and forget the switch was off to the outlet)

The power supply should be a Class-2, 9 volt, minimum of 300 mA, with a size C plug.

Many Radio Shack power supplies have reversable polarity. Make sure that the center tip is positive.

The Radioshack 800 MHz antenna is a good choice if you listen to 800 MHz alot, also their telescoping antenna is pretty decent.
