Pro106 dc adapter/ bc396t adapter

Does anyone know if the a car charger for a uniden 396/246 will work on a pro 106. Tip is yellow, fits fine. just not sure if the polarity is the same? I dont have a multi meter or test light available.

The problem is that the voltage for the Uniden 246 is 6 volts and the PRO-106 requires 9 volts.
