Has anyone put an ex-spkr jack on their pro2050. I think I'm going to tonight. The internal one gives me a headache.

Why not use the headphone jack that is already on the front of the scanner as noted on page 10 and 11 in the manual that came with the radio?

From the manual:
CONNECTING AN EXTENSION SPEAKER
In a noisy area, an amplified extension speaker (such as Cat. No. 21-541), positioned in the right place, might provide more comfortable listening. Plug the speaker cable’s 1/8-inch plug into your scanner’s headphone jack.

The headphone jack does not connect directly to the audio ground, same as many handhelds. This limits the audio output to prevent hearing damage. That's why the manual specifies the use of an amplified speaker for connection to the headphone jack. To use an unamplified external speaker the ground terminal of the headphone jack would have to be connected to the radio ground.

Yes I know BUT I don't have an amplified speaker or I would. All I have to do is drill a hole snip snip solder done. What I ask was has anyone done it.
