I have a Pro43 and would guess the 125 has better audio (why I got my Pro97) so others can hear in a group setting.
Alpha tags are nice especially when a "guest" is listening. Display visibility especially needing a light the Pro43 is weak but surprisingly the 125 does not have backlit keys like Pro97 and that would eliminate it from my roster. The near field searching is a great feature the 43 does not have. One more beep of the Pro 97 horn: 1000 channels.

Those back lit keys are definitely the cats meow.

Well the 43 will be used to do miscellaneous air band stuff. The BC246t will be for fire ems. I have each of the x36 radios. But a lot of simulcast. Need to play with some settings. Should have also bought the SDS series last year instead of the x36hp series. Anybody want to trade a BCD436hp or BCD536hp for an SDS radio. Now I am ranting. for reasons not fully explained here.

Not dug into detail but in EU / Other territories then the civil air band is on 8.33kHz spacings/steps. So any scanner confined to 25 or 12.5kHz spacings/channels will miss out on 8.33kHz stuff.

I don't know if the US/Canada/South America are using 8.33 frequencies but you should check this.

The 125 series of scanners can generally handle 25, 12.5 and 8.33kHz usage. I have no idea if the Pro43 can do this or not?
