PRO95 FM vs MOT mode Text ID's

Using Win95....

I did extensive testing with my PRO95 and have found that on a Bank where i am monitoring FM frequencies if i give the 'Alpha Tag' field the same name my scanner won't stop on the frequencies.

I have my scanner set to display the Alpha Tags.

However, I can do the same thing with any Trunked Bank and it works fine.

I do this becuase i give the Frequencies the same 'Alpha Tag' like this:

PD-Bed xxx.xxxx
PD-Bed xxx.xxxx
PD-Bed xxx.xxxx

I don't care about what specifically the frequency is as long as i know 'globally' its a Police/Fire/Medstar type transmission.

If i go back into Win95 and change my 'Alpha Tag's to something like this it starts working again:

PD-Bed1 xxx.xxxx
PD-Bed2 xxx.xxxx
PD-Bed3 xxx.xxxx

Anyone else seen this? I don't understand why Trunked Systems will allow it but simple FM frequencies won't work that way.

Is it something i live with?

it's probably MO or ED mode, not FM

It's just a guess, but it sounds to me like the frequencies you put in are in trunked mode, with MO or ED. If they are conventional frequencies but you have them in MO/ED mode, they will not be scanned. The scanner automatically puts most frequencies in the UHF/800 range with MO mode, but some computer programs do not. So check the mode on those channels to see that it is FM, not MO or ED.

Thanks for the replies. Upon further investigation, i simply uploaded the frequencies again from Win95 and it started working. Sounds more like a programming glitch than anything i was inputting.

Works fine now. Go figure.
