My Pro95 is doing something strange. While scanning, I can turn the squelch all the way down (to where I should get static), but it doesn't get the static, It just keeps scanning. I can stop on a channel, turn the squelch all the way down, and it's nothing but silence (no static). What is going on?

I programmed it with WIN95 and have confirmed that the Global ATT is NOT on. I am scanning conventional frequencies.
Also, while scanning WX channels, if I recieve one that is almost all static, I can turn the squelch up and it will leave that freq and start scanning for the next one, so it appears that the squelch is working....at least in WX search mode.

Doesn't sound good. Is it new, or an older radio? If new, trot down to the RS and trade it in.

Sounds like the antenna connection might be loose. Is the antenna mount loose where it connects to the radio?

Checked

I opened up my scanner, and everything appears to be ok.
It is wierd, it doesn't seem to lost anything reception wise. All of the frequencies that I could pick up before this happened I can still pick up.

A loose antenna would have no affect on turning squelch down and getting static.I get static when turning squelch down with or without the antenna.
If you have a bank set to MOT or EDACS and do not have a conventional freq in that bank the squelch has no affect at all.
My 95 did what yours did and there are other bugs you will encounter.Win 95 is great for programing the scanner and only takes a minute to reload everything in the event one must reset their scanner.

Just what I was fixing to say....

Not too sure about stopping on a channel and still not receiving anything
though. You should be able to hear noise if you or the control channel if
you press manual and stop the scanning.
