pro95 quit working

my pro95 has been working great. i just added some new channels into it and i've been scanning with it for a few days with no problems... last night it just quit. i dont hear anything... when i do hear something all i get is a second or two of static. anyone ever heard of this before? i'm going to take it upto a guy at radioshack this afternoon too see if he has any advice. :roll:

did you try a full reset before you take a ride?

tried the reset and also doing the 0, 1 reset to erase all data.

I would change your power from battery to wall or wall to battery which ever the case might be. If you are on a wall ac-dc adpapter you might want to check sure the voltage setting hasn't been moved. Or if you are on battteries, they might be dead. :mrgreen:

Try the WX channel and see if you get anything. That will let you know if something is up with the scanner in an all around kind of way.

eng: i've done that and i get WX7 great. also figured out i can pick up individual channels, just not trunking. but putting in a known working config (cloning another scanner without any problems) it still will not pick up EDACS or MOT trunking systems

i've also tried known working antennas, still nothing. i opened the case up after talking to the guy at radio shack and did not see any connections broke on the antenna part. i do not think the scanner was dropped between the time the scanner last worked and now, so to say it's broken does not really explain anything too me. but i'm willing to try anything and test for anything cuz i dont have any ears right now.

upon disconnecting the antenna and tuning to WX 7, i get nothing... whenever i sit the antenna onto the antenna connector, i instantly get a good signal...this tells me that the antenna connection is working normally.

i think i'm going to take this scanner back upto rat shack tommorow and find out about my "limited one year warantee".

i'll keep you guys updated. as always, i'll accept any input you've got.

Will it lock in on a control channel? That would be my next at home chaeck. Make sure your bank and channel are set to Mot..

it will not lock onto a control channel.

i have cloned it with a known working scanner and my scanner still would not pick up the control channel. radio shack looked at it again today and agreed. it was sent in for repair.

i'm earless for at least two weeks. anyone in dfw got a radio i can borrow. what on earth will i do without it?!

i sent the scanner back to radio shack. they repaired it ($40 covered under warantee). all they put on the repair sheet was "scanner tuned to peak performance"...

...wtf. lol. at least it works again! i have ears!!
