Pro95 trunking problem--> only on occassion

It's not really a problem rather an annoyance I wonder if I can fix. If I am scanning banks 3 and 4 and add a bank or remove a bank the problem occurs (1 out of 7X). When it picks up bank 3 or 4 again, both edacs if it matters, the scanner will display the tg number but not the tg name anymore. In addition it will sound off terrible digital noises and sounds instead of voices.

A power cycle will correct it, and it doesn't always do it so its that not big of deal. I am just wondering why it does this and if there is something I can do about it.

I wish i had an answer for you, i am having the same problem as you. I usually just powerdown. Also sometimes when im in trunk mode there will be tons of activity and then all of the sudden its like everybody stops talking, and im form a city where theres always someone talking.
I dunno if for some reason during a certain part of the day the primary channels switch and i can no long recieve the transmissions or if its something with the scanner. If i power down and then power up again it seems to be fine. Ive just learned to work around it for now but if anyone has an answer it would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks

Sounds like a PRO-93/95/2067 ect. Its common for the display to some times show the Talk Group ID rather than the text. It is beleived that this is a reminder, showing the ID. All PRO-series seem to do this. The ratchet noise could be digital signal or controller. Here again, it just happens. Even my BC digital scanners do that maybe once a day, as well as the PRO's. You are dealing with a $200 to $500 piece of equipment trying to operate the same as a $2000 to $5000 piece of equipment. I've learned to live with it and hope you can as well. Good Luck.

When the id just shows up not the text press the text button and then the text will appear, and everything should be ok.
