On the RX Mode tab, you need to change the Motorola trunked frequencies to MOT for each frequency. They are set to FM right now. It's a drop down menu.

That red elipse is just one frequency too big. Don't change the Ham frequency to MOT.

Thanks for the help!! I'm getting trunk codes now but for some reason when I scan it's not stopping when someone keys up and I also can't hold a trunk ID?? I didn't see anything in the manual but maybe I'm just missing it? Anyhow, thanks for the help on this one!! Anything else would be a bonus :D

To hold on a talkgroup ID, simply PRESS and HOLD "trunk" for 2 seconds (while your scanner is on that ID).
You can make your "id delay" a higher number if you want it to pause longer before returning to scanning.

Ok... I took the delay out but it had no effect, still not stopping on TG's when they key up. On the TG ID hold, I should have said this before. I press the TRUNK key for two seconds and the radio (The Pro-95) says "ID Already Stored" on the screen but won't hold the ID. This is on the rare chace I get it to stop on a TG in scan mode. In manual mode, it says the same thing when I sit on a command freq. and listen.

I'm sure this is something simple for some feature that I've probably enabled/disabled on accident and have no clue what I've done. I appologize for being such a n00b at this. I'm finding the Pro-95 harder to comprehend than my old BearTracker or the Yaesu that got me interested in radio again. I'm sure it's due in part to having to learn how the trunking system works. I'm still reading old posts and FAQ areas of this site RE: Trunking but for some reason my brain is not getting it.

I'll keep reading and see if we have a break through

I can't say thanks enough. The little beast is working better and better the more info I read online and get from these forums. I really do appreciate the help guys :)

Question: how do you know they are keying up on a talkgroup ID if it doesn't stop on it momentarily?
The 95 will display "id was saved" if you just press the trunk key and release it (and you have that talkgroup programmed in, see top of page 63 in the pdf manual), but will stop on that id if you hold the trunk key for 2 seconds (bottom of page 64), unless your radio has a defective trunk button (keypad or internal problem?).

On the TG ID issue, I'm assuming that. I've left the scanner on SCAN for a day without anything other than voice channels coming through.
I will make sure I've got everything in Win95 and inititalize the scanner. That should rule out internal problems right? Other than that, I can take it by Radio Shack for a trade in or HAM Radio Outlet and see if they can find the TG ID hold problem.

jayfurd:

Got the email. I'm at work now, give me about two hours to take lunch and grab the file from home.

Surveying the screen shots, I am guessing you are trying to monitor the Washington County / Clackamas County System in which case, you need to review your frequencies. There are numbers there I don't see anywhere here on the site.

That may have been part of the problem. Some of the freq.'s were old I'm sure. I got them online somewhere I forget where a while back when I got the scanner.
I plugged in the new command freq.'s and it's working much MUCH better!! Loumaag, thank you for the link, I hadn't found that yet :D I appreciate everyones help!!! The scanners running well, all it needs now is fine tuning the programming. I think this thread has run it's course so I will leave this as is with a thank you and a smile. See you all in the forums :D
