pro96 and metro area

Ok I admit it I do not have a clue on how to program my pro 96 correctly. I have tried to enter all the talk group ids and texts and still I have numbers apearing. I try to save these and its says memory full. I think that I am not doing something correct. I am tired of manually entering all the info from the radio reference data base. Can someone please help me.

It so very easy.. but you MUST have the cable and WIN96 software. Manually is a nightmare.

Sounds to me like you need to change it from showing the tg id number to the alpha tags. There is a key or two you need to push to do that. I don't remember off hand what they are, check the manual, it should have that in there. If its telling you that memory is full you have the stuff in there, you just need to change it to show it.

Remember too... for digital.. you only need the control channel.. thats it! (and the few alternates but rarely are they used).. and then just program in the TG ID's with text.
