Was playing with my R.S. PRO96 today and it is working the way it should following the RCMP P25 trunking system. The decode rate jumps from 40%-to-70+% when users are on the system. The Pro96 was in conventional mode and did not have any IDs programed and was also in closed mode. I returned the DSP firmware to F1.0 programed the control channel to MO mode entered the IDs in MO mode and started scanning in open mode. It is working just great now!

My GRE 500 is also trunking the system now. I dont know why or if this means anything but I remember a lot of testing talk on a couple of the freqs when scanning conventionnaly a couple of weeks ago, now all of a sudden voila trunking properly? No complaints tho!

Please post all the IDs to the data base so we can see them ! SaskPower IDs must have a location in the data base too.

question about programming for p25

to get it (pro96, 106 or gre 500 ) to track properly do we need to worry about extended or custom tables?

if so what do i need to do based with the following:

Table ID, Base Freq, Spacing, Input Offset,Assumed/Confirmed,BandWidth
00 ,138.00000, 0.01500, -1.60000, "Confirmed", 0.01250
01, 138.00000, 0.01500, 3.32500," Confirmed", 0.01250

this is for the system in the moose jaw area.

thanks,
Wil

No! You do not have to worry about the tables ! The 9600 bps P25 control channel sends the commands out for channel changes.

These frequency identifier tables are the same ones that I got at the site here, and you can use them to configure custom tables for a PRO96. Using the WIN96 program select mult-tables First table # 00: ChanLo is 0 / BASE is 138.00000 / Offset is 0 / Step is 15.000
Second table #01:ChanLo is 4096 / BASE is 138.00000 / Offset is 4096 / Step is 15.000 My PRO96 is decoding to a max of 71% when the system is in use but only 23% when it is not in use. Tracking is hit and miss but always tracks the low channel on the system showing the IDs in use . Again this you do not have to do for a PSR500/PRO106 to track the system. Good luck to you with this info in Moose Jaw.

00 = Base 138.00000 Lo 4096 Hi 8191 spacing 15.000 / 01 =Base 138.000 Lo 0 Hi 4095 spacing 15.000 Shows they are reversed tables ?

Try this in MooseJaw and see if the PRO96 will TrunkTrack this system with these tables loaded by Win96. This is working for my PRO96 on site#71. Trunking perfectly !

Using the WIN96 program select mult-tables and you must change the following tables to get it to work. First table # 00: ChanLo is 0 / BASE is 138.00000 / Offset is 0 / Step is 15.000
Second table #01:ChanLo is 4096 / BASE is 138.00000 / Offset is 4096 / Step is 15.000

I made these changes to mine yesterday and is working very well. I noticed that the Saskpower channel with the ID of 00610 is RCMP training channels in Regina.

I used web import to load the RCMP P-25 frequencies, then changed the settings listed in the previuos post in Win96, made sure the Bank was closed and it is working fine.

I'm contemplating using part of the DB for something like that. Read the thread I posted in this forum titled "A little test.." I'd like to see both Untirunker/trunker stuff and scanner data files stored for various systems, but I have to find out if the feature will still be there in the 4.x version of the site coming up tomorrow, and consider some other things about the idea.

I have played with Win96 and these Multi-Tables for days now because my pro96 would only trunk the Lo channel and not always the Hi channel on the system . The decode rate never more than 71%.This is what I did : Click on Frequencies then Multi-Tables then Extended tables. Table: #00 ChLo 0 ChHi 4095 Base 138.0000 Step 15.000 Table #01 ChLo 0 ChHi 4095 Base 138.0000 Step 15.000 . You will see that they are both the same! The other Table I listed before as #01 ChLo 4096 ChHi 8191 Base 138.0000 Step 15.000 is the Control Channel Table and not a voice channel table. I discovered this when looking at the Offsets -1.600 for a voice channel and + 3.325 for a control channel. These tables are working but it is slow to go to the HiCh at times missing the first part of the call. I think problem is the low decode rate 25%-to-70%.My Pro96 is an early Lo S/N # model and they do not work as well as the newer models do.

Table: #00 ChLo 0 ChHi 4095 Base 138.0000 Offset 0 Step 15.000 . #01 ChLo 4096 ChHi 8191 Base 138.0000 Offset 4096 Step 15.000

The two offsets in red are required also.

Strangely, both Base frequencies are the same with no change in Step size.

If you are currently receiving traffic with upper limit at 8191, a single offset should work with 8192 I.e., using scanner keyboard enter Base freq, offset and step using PGM>TRUNK>FUNC + 2 and then set FUNC + 4 to table.

fmon Thanks for your info. I have used those tables programed that way and my PRO96 was not trunking this M/A-Com p25 system very well. There is only two voice channels in use and it would only trunk the lower of the two channels that way.
