Hello,

Before I reprogram my scanner's banks, I wanted to ask this question...

Is it possible to program more than one radio system into a scanner bank? What I mean is...say I had the state of NJ's (NJSP) in bank 1 and I also wanted to put in a local NJ pd in the same bank (1), can I do that? Or say I wanted to put New Jersey State Police AND the Delaware State Police in the same bank (1) Would it work? Or should each bank have it's own system programmed into it? Does that make sense?

Thanks!

You can place two trunked systems in the same bank when they share the same configurations; ie, Type II Moto 800 systems. However, you will also want to do a little advanced planning. Why... because you will not want them to share talkgroup ID's. Example... if both systems use a talkgroup of 280, then you will not be able to tell which system is broadcasting when the scanner stops on this talkgroup (unless you are able to tell by something like voices or unit designators). Also, you will not be able to lockout 280 on one system and not the other. Naturally, if both systems use talkgroup 280, but you are not interested in it on either system (maybe you don't want to know where the trash trucks are going), then this will not be an issue.

As tbnmaster and Dewey state you can put multiple system's in the same bank. I do it with a Pro 95 that I travel with. With my Pro 96 & 2096 I take full advantage of the "V Scanner". Unless you want to listen to everything all of the time you have 11 different scanner configurations you can use counting the scratch pad.

This is not much use either but line 2 will display the assigned voice frequency which will tell the system the 280 ID belongs to. PITA because you need to be observing line 2 and 4 as well as the need to have each systems VC memorized.
