Been a while since I've run Trunker and getting ready to dig the data slicer out and start again. I've been using my Pro-2004 w/ mod for the control channel, my question is when Cobb County (GA) switches over to digital at the end of the year, can I still use the 2004 or can I possibly use my Pro-96?

Yes Mike you can still use the Pro2004 to monitor the control channel, even if it is a 9600 system. Only thing is trunker will not run at this time on a 9600 system only 3600. Some modifications will have to be made to trunker to do that. But you can use Unitrunker if you can get it to read the data from your com port. A lot of people are having trouble using a slicer with Unitrunker, but sound card works great. Feed the disc tap audio to your line or mike in and then run Unitrunker. I think and hope this will be fixed in the next realease of Unitrunker when it comes out soon. I hope soon!!

Beware that when you operate UniTrunker with a data slicer as the signal source, you lose the ability to decode P25 signals. 2-level and 4-level slicer's won't work on a CQPSK signal.

Thanks Rick. I did not understand that part as I have not been able to get Unitrunker to accept a slicer signal even on a regular 3600 system. But just running the scanner tap stright to the sound card works great with both systems.

I haven't heard of Cobb County is going 9600 or not, hopefully, they will stay 3600. Works out good that the 2004 will "properly" receive the digital signal. I'll update when they do the switch!
