pro96com - controlling Uniden Scanner

Has anyone tried to use pro96com to control a Uniden Scanner? Since the program requires 2 serial ports I was wondering if the usb port could be used with a convertor,,, with the PRO-96 on the serial and the Uniden 796/296 on the usb?

Anyone been there done that?

Yes, I use a BC296D for control with IOgear USB-to-Com port adapter on one of my computers. Works real good. Just remember to set the Com port properly on the Pro96Com settings.
