Those settings are saved by the program when the option to save column widths and screen size is enabled on the Screen Settings tab in the configuration editor.

You can then resize the columns by clicking and dragging the separator line between columns in the headers and have the program save them when it exits.

Fairly standard Windows operations.

Mike, is it possible for it also to save the location the window is located at? I typically run 3-4 so they're all sized to fit the screen.

I'll look at that. I thought it already did. If they are sharing the ini file though it could be an issue there as well.

In my case they're all the same network so they each get their own directories.

It should already be storing the screen position as long as it's not running full screen.
Negative. Every time they get placed at random spots toward the left side on the screen when I first run them.

Screen cut off

Not sure if this is the right thread for this question, but thought I'd throw this out there. I'm a new user to Pro96Com and I've been able to use it with a PRO-96 and also with my new BCD396XT. I'm running the program on an older Dell D-600 laptop with WinXP-Pro. The problem is that the right hand column in the program is cut off on the right-hand side of the window. This is where the System Information, Site Information, and Decode Information is. It doesn't matter if I expand Pro96Com to a full size window or make it smaller, that column of information on the right side is cut off by about the right-most 1/4 of that information.

Is this a Java version issue, or do I need to change my screen resolution? I'm set at maximum screen resolution on this laptop which is 1400 X 1050. Font size is set at "Large" for these aging eyes.

Thanks,
Mike

I did set the font size to "Normal" without any improvement. I haven't reset the resolution yet, since that will totally change my desktop icons and settings. If I know for sure that will solve the problem, then I'd be willing to make that change.

What is your screen DPI set to? If it's anything other than 96DPI it won't look right.

Mike

Hi Mike. Good call. That was it! My DPI has been set to 120 to be able to keep my max resolution but at the same time make things a little bigger on the screen. I reset the DPI to 96 (which, of course, completely messed up my desktop), and both Win96Com and FreeScan now display correctly. Tiny type, but at least nothing cut off now and everything readable. Guess I'll just have to get some stronger bifocals. :)

Thanks for the tip!

Mike
