PRO97 and arc300

i cant seem to get the pro 97 and the arc300 to work together. I have all my freq/talk groups entered into arc300, i have my usb/serial cable adapter from radio shack. I've followed instructions and i believe the drivers are installed, although the instructions don't address windows vista. I plugged in the usb and let windows installer work it's magic and it says the drivers are installed. I hit upload and it runs its course, but when i go to unplug and restart the pro97 it comes up blank.

Win97 at: Software for RadioShack PRO-series (PRO-92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 99, 163, 164, 106, 197) and GRE PSR-series (PSR-500, 600, 300, 400) scanners
Makes it a breeze. DonS wrote this software specifically for the 97. Not saying that Butel software isn't good. Don writes these programs for GRE/RS scanners only

I don't use ARC300 for my 97. I'm assuming you bought the software, so purchasing another program might be considered a waste of money. However, I agree with Larry. Download the Win97 and try it out. It works perfectly. I like the interface much better than any of BuTel's programs, too.

In ARC300 select the correct com/usb port. Also make sure that you select the correct scanner model since ARC300 supports different models.
