I just got a pro97 (someone said it was best for the area), I've programmed most of the frequencies listed on the site, but not sure if I'm doing it right. I get several channels and dont really get a constant feed (dispatch to officer to dispatch to officer) any help would be appreciated. Am I suppose to "trunk" the channels?

They should work fine on conventional and some of the trunk frequencies in the area as you have to look at them. They will get the trunked on phase I and the EDACS systems in the area.

I guess what I'm having a problem is actually trunking the other channels.

Las Cruces uses their old system using EDACS set up. They use the system set up on regular EDACS set up and use the regular EDACS on their on the basic system with regular EDACS. Their set up with the county is a conventional using the old regular frequencies with the usual system.

You can use the old frequencies with standard version with a 02-121 as version one with the main frequency one the frequency. I generally use the Police, Fire and AMR as used by their set up.

EDACS will work correctly with your scanners. You enter in this series: 851.2000, 851.6875, 852.1750, 852.2000, 852.3625, 852.4375, 852.6875, 852.9500, 853.1875, 853.3500, 853.3625, and 853.6750. You start with the lower frequency and ending by the higher frequency.

For EDACS systems, frequencies are NOT entered in order from the lowest to the highest. The last digits of the channel number must match the logical channel number (LCN) listed for that frequency. The frequencies are entered in the order of their LCN's. With Motorola systems, the frequencies can be entered in any order.

How do you find out what LCN goes to what channel?

If you go to the RR database, look at Don Ana county, you will see the frequencies in their LCN. Put all of the frequencies in their proper order. Make sure that they are in the EDACS mode.

Older scanner, but works well on EDACS. Used to own one ages ago. (y)

01 851.200 02 851.6875 03 852.175 04 852.200 05 852.3625 06 852.4375 07 852.6875
08 852.950 09 853.1875 10 853.350 11 853.625 12 853.675

ok, now you should see the channel numbers in front of the frequencies.
so if you started in bank 1 the first channel you have to put 851.2 in should be channel 101 and so on.

Keep in mind the new daso vhf channels are not patched to the cruces trs. They still use the old ones mainly but do use the new ones sometimes.

If you do a search from scanner make sure to log any not listed for others to check out.
